Blue-Eyed Devil

If you are interested in reading my Blue-Eyed Devil review, I suggest you first read Sugar Daddy. Otherwise this is a huge spoiler. And I just don't want to do that to you.

 Blue-Eyed Devil
(Travis #2)
By: Lisa Kleypas
MEET THE BLUE-EYED DEVIL - His name is Hardy Cates. He's a self-made millionaire who comes from the wrong side of the tracks. He's made enemies in the rough-and-tumble ride to the top of Houston's oil industry. He's got hot blood in his veins. And vengeance on his mind.

MEET THE HEIRESS - She's Haven Travis. Despite her family's money, she refuses to set out on the path they've chosen for her. But when Haven marries a man her family disapproves of, her life is set on a new and dangerous course. Two years later, Haven comes home, determined to guard her heart. And Hardy Cates, a family enemy, is the last person she needs darkening her door or setting her soul on fire.

WATCH THE SPARKS FLY....Filled with Lisa Kleypas's trademark sensuality, filled with characters you love to hate and men you love to love, Blue-Eyed Devil will hold you captive in its storytelling power as the destiny of two people unfolds with every magical word.
Blue-Eyed Devil (Travises, #2)

I really didn't know what to expect from this book. I loved loved loved Hardy in Sugar Daddy, and was kind of disappointed that he and Liberty didn't work out. I say "kind of" because I really liked Gage as well, and Hardy did a stupid thing ruining his deal the way he did. But for the whole beginning of this book I kept thinking "but Hardy was supposed to be with Liberty!"  It was a similar feeling to when you break up with someone and say you want them to be happy and move on. Yeah, you really do want them to be happy. But do you really want to hear about their new relationship? Not really.

I'm not sure if I ever got over that feeling. I just tried to think about Sugar Daddy Hardy and this Hardy as two seperate people. which was helpful especially considering the harsh light Hardy was painted in when he ruined Gage's deal.

Lisa Kleypas did a really great job of creating a whole new story for Haven and Hardy. A lot of times when I read multiple books by an author I notice the plot may have changed a little, but the characters personalities remain exactly the same. Haven and Liberty couldn't be more different.

Haven feels like she has more to prove because of the advantages she had growing up. Because of this she dedicates herself to making her marriage work, even when it gets seriously unhealthy. The majority of the book is Haven picking herself up after her failed marriage, and dealing with her feelings for Hardy. I loved it.

I completely recommend the Travis series to you.

Four stars!!
